Handy hints By Tony Maden Handy hint: motion detectors on common home alarm systems can be "blinded" by shining a laser-pointer into the receiving lens. When installing detectors, place them in a position that is not visible from the exterior. Experience has shown that it is typical for one intruder to steadily aim the pointer at the receiver therefore "blinding" it while a second enters the room and is not detected by the alarm system.
